According to the Prince George's County Police Department, the father and stepmother of a 5-year-old daughter who died after sustaining blunt force trauma have been charged and detained in connection with her passing.

Charges of child abuse resulting in death and neglect of a minor have been brought against Pradel Delinois, 44, and Ornelie Charles, 42. Charles was charged especially with child abuse and assault.

An autopsy revealed that the 5-year-old victim, Pradeline Delinois, had suffered blunt force injuries.

On Thursday, August 18, Capitol Heights Police Department officers responded to a report of an unconscious kid in the 5100 block of Cumberland Street.

After being taken to a hospital in Washington, D.C., Pradeline was declared dead a short while later, according to authorities.

According to a police inquiry into Pradeline's death, her injuries occurred while she was in the custody and care of her father and stepmother.

After conducting an autopsy, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of the District of Columbia ruled that blunt force trauma was the victim's cause of death. Homicide was declared in this case.

Detectives can be reached at 301-516-2512 if anyone has information pertinent to this inquiry.
