PnB Rock, a Philadelphia rapper best known for his 2016 single "Selfish," was tragically shot on Monday afternoon during a heist at the South Los Angeles restaurant Roscoe's House of Chicken & Waffles, according to law enforcement officials.
At 1:15 pm, according to Los Angeles police Capt. Kelly Muniz, a shooting occurred. at the well-known restaurant on Manchester Avenue and Main Street. She refused to say who the victim was.
Rock, 30, whose real name was Rakim Allen, had eaten at the establishment with his girlfriend, who had shared a location-tagged picture on an Instagram post that has since been deleted.
In the restaurant, according to Muniz, a suspect displayed a gun and demanded stuff from the victim. The Times reported that Rock was a target because of his jewels.
The attacker shot the victim during the robbery almost immediately, according to Muniz.
He opened fire on the victim before escaping through a side entrance and driving off from the parking lot.
At 1:59 p.m., the person was brought to a hospital and declared dead.
Investigators from the Los Angeles Police Department are looking through security footage taken inside the restaurant to find the shooter. Additionally, they are looking into neighbouring businesses to determine if any video footage exists of the suspect departing on foot or in a car.
According to Muniz, investigators were analysing the material on Monday night. She declined to make any comments about what was found.
Authorities think that social media posts, such as one of a black gift bag bearing his address, helped the attackers find him.
