This Beloved Southern Grocery Chain Is Currently Expanding
The largest employee-owned grocery chain in the US, with 1,296 locations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia, isn't letting the grass grow beneath its feet.
Publix continues to expand its famous subway sandwiches and fresh-baked cookies, with five additional sites in Florida and Georgia, as well as one in another state.
In addition to the new Publix in Boca Raton, a new Publix in Plantation will open on May 5. With two new Publix grocery shops just opening in Tucker and Monroe, Georgia now has the majority of the new Publix sites.
On May 11, the chain will hold a grand opening for its new store in Winder, Georgia, which will be its second in the town.
The new Publix grocery shops in Florida and Georgia will include, among other things, a pharmacy, bakery, deli, vegetable area, seafood department, floral section, meat and cheeses, check cashing, recycling, wine and beer.
As part of the company's strategy for further expansion, the first-ever Publix supermarket and liquor shop will operate in Kentucky in 2023, according to the corporation.
Not only does the company provide fantastic weekly offers and "BOGO" discounts, but it has also incorporated the Southern hospitality culture into its business concept, coining the tagline "Where shopping is a pleasure."
The deli department, which contains Publix's fried chicken, sweet tea, and special "Pub Sub" sandwiches, is also a cult favourite among Publix customers.
